IPA Winter Policy & Issues Conference

Iowa Poultry Association is planning its first-ever Winter Policy and Issues Conference for February 19, 2018, followed by our annual IPA Day on the Hill on February 20, 2018. The conference will kick off at 2 p.m. and run until 5 p.m., followed by an evening reception and dinner. All activities will be held at the Embassy Suites at 101 E Locust Street in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

The Policy and Issues Conference will cover policy and legislative issues relevant to the future viability and success of the poultry industry. A room block is being held at the Embassy Suites under Iowa Poultry Association. We hope to see you on February 19th and 20th in Des Moines for the IPA Winter Policy & Issues Conference as well as the IPA Day on the Hill.

Preliminary Topics & Speakers:

  • Tackling an Ever-Growing Workforce Shortage - Labor & Immigration Panel with Speakers from Iowa Select Farms, Davis & Brown Law Firm & West Liberty Foods
  • The Importance of Consumer Options at Retail - Diane Sullivan, Former SNAP Recipient (Food-Insecure Mom) from Massachusetts Taking on Activists & Food Elitists
  • Update on Bringing Water Quality Resources and Tools Forward
  • Potential Introduction to & Discussion with Iowa’s New Secretary of Agriculture

The Policy & Issues Conference culminates with a Banquet, with Governor Kim Reynolds attending.

The next day, February 20, we hold our 2018 IPA Day on the Hill with key legislative visits.
